Modeinspect is an AI design tool that runs inside your product's codebase instead of beside it. Instead of drawing mockups in a separate app and handing them off, teams design on a visual canvas backed by their real components, design tokens, styling system, and live product screens. It is built for design engineers, product designers, and front-end teams who are tired of the gap between a mockup and what actually ships.

The problem it targets is the handoff chain. Design work usually happens away from the real product, so engineers later reinterpret it in code, edge cases get lost, and every change restarts the loop. Modeinspect turns the codebase itself into editable canvas frames, so changes are made against components that already exist and then delivered as scoped pull requests that are ready for engineering review.

What Makes Modeinspect Stand Out

Canvas plus code in one loop: Lay out frames, styling, and content on a visual canvas while the underlying output stays real product code, so what you design is what ships.

Your components and tokens, enforced: Components drop onto the canvas 1:1 with every variant and state intact, and colors, spacing, radius, and text styles come straight from your library so nothing off-system can sneak in.

AI exploration grounded in your product: Use current AI models to generate variants, restyle a section, adjust copy, or explore a design direction, all while staying inside the component and token constraints of your system.

Merge-ready pull requests: Modeinspect reads your file layout, components, tokens, and conventions, then writes within them. Changes land as scoped, type-safe diffs instead of a parallel design system.

Real states, breakpoints, and data: Lay out mobile, tablet, and desktop side by side, shape hover, focus, error, empty, and loading states on the real component, and design on top of live data and messy edge-case values.

Who Should Use Modeinspect

Design engineers who work in code daily and want canvas-style iteration without redrawing components or maintaining a separate source of truth.

Product design teams that need high-fidelity prototypes with real data and dynamic states for reviews, user testing, or stakeholder demos.

Front-end and platform engineers who want visual changes, design QA fixes, and small components delivered as clean pull requests rather than screenshots and specs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a local dev environment to use Modeinspect?

Modeinspect is a hosted web app that connects to your codebase, so the design work happens in the browser on a large screen. It reads your repository structure, components, and tokens so canvas edits map back to the files and conventions your team already uses.

How does Modeinspect fit alongside Figma?

Figma is used to explore ideas away from the product. Modeinspect covers the later stages where fidelity matters: prototyping against the real codebase, comparing canvas to the live build during design QA, and shipping the visual change. Many teams keep both, with Modeinspect handling anything that needs to reach production.

Does Modeinspect work with our existing components and design system?

Yes. The tool is designed to respect an existing system rather than replace it. It pulls from your component library and design tokens, reuses your utilities and styling approach, and avoids hardcoded colors or one-off components so reviews stay small.
