Recap Raven is a Discord bot for tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) groups, built for Dungeon Masters and players who want to remember every session without manual note-taking. It records voice sessions in Discord, transcribes them, and automatically generates player-safe recaps, private GM notes, and a searchable campaign memory. Every answer in the campaign memory includes a citation to the exact transcript moment, so you can always verify what happened and who said it.

What Makes Recap Raven Stand Out

Player-safe recaps: Recaps are written from what was said at the table, and GM-only secrets, prep, and speculation are never included. The safety pass checks that private reads do not leak into player-facing summaries.
Ask with receipts: Players and GMs can ask questions about NPCs, quests, items, and past decisions in Discord. The answer links directly to the transcript evidence, so you can trust the memory.
GM-only analytics and feedback: After each session, the GM gets a private report with a session score, participation stats, table energy by scene, pillars of play, spotlight balance, and coaching notes that players never see.
Hooks and next-session prep: The bot tracks open threads and story hooks across sessions, and suggests likely directions your players will chase next, so you can prep efficiently.
Privacy-first recording: Raw audio is deleted automatically after transcription, your content is never used to train AI models, and you can export or delete all session data at any time.

Who Should Use Recap Raven

Dungeon Masters who want to focus on running the game instead of scribbling notes, and who need honest feedback about pacing, engagement, and spotlight distribution.
TTRPG groups that play in Discord and want a shared, searchable campaign chronicle that keeps everyone on the same page between sessions.
Players who love lore and want to ask questions about the campaign world without interrupting the game, knowing the answers are grounded in actual table canon.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Recap Raven?

Recap Raven is a Discord bot that records your tabletop RPG sessions in voice channels, transcribes them, and automatically creates player-safe recaps, private GM notes, and a searchable campaign memory. It is designed for games like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, and other TTRPGs played over Discord.

How does Recap Raven work?

Invite the bot to your Discord server, start a session with /session start in your voice channel, and play normally. The bot records the audio, transcribes it, and processes the session within minutes. Players receive a recap directly in Discord, while the GM gets a private analytics report with feedback and coaching notes. The campaign memory is built from every session, and you can ask questions in Discord with answers cited to the transcript.

What are the limitations of Recap Raven?

Recap Raven works only with Discord voice channels, so sessions on other platforms like Zoom or Roll20 voice aren't supported. The free plan includes one complete session; paid plans are required for ongoing use. The bot also needs the consent of all participants before recording, and raw audio is deleted after transcription, so there is no audio library to export.
